Launching Creative Club. Designed by Young People, for Young People

Change is coming — and it’s 100% from the grassroots up. ☝🏻🌱❤️

This month marks the start of an exciting new pilot project: Creative Club. A youth-led, youth-designed space where young people can explore creativity, try new things and shape the kind of opportunities they want to see in their communities.

From conversations to creation

Through our detached youth work, we’ve heard a consistent message from young people: they want more creative spaces, more ownership, and more say in what’s offered to them.

Creative Club is our response, an opportunity for young people we’ve worked with to step up as co-designers and leaders, delivering the kind of sessions they would have loved when they were younger. Supported by our youth workers, these young leaders will help plan and deliver activities that build confidence, connection and creativity.

Led by young people, for young people

Over the next few weeks, our Creative Club Superheroes, four amazing young people who helped design the pilot, will be popping up across South Bristol to spread the word.

You might spot them at Greville Smyth Park on Tuesday 18th and 25th November (3–4pm) under a bright blue gazebo, running fun challenges, break-dance demos, and creative games to get people talking about what they’d love to try.

We’ll also be visiting Ashton Park School in December, with a lunchtime pop-up for Years 10 and 11, and an assembly for the Sixth Form, making sure every young person knows they can get involved.

What’s happening at Creative Club

Creative Club sessions will run on Tuesdays, 4–6pm at St Francis Centre (BS3 1JP), open to 14–17 year olds.
Each block focuses on a new theme:

  • 🕺 Break DancingJan 6 – Feb 10

  • 🍳 CookingApr 21 – May 19

Spaces are free but limited — register now via grassrootcommunities.org/creative-club

Why it matters

We know that when young people are given space, trust and ownership, they don’t just take part – they take charge.

Creative Club is about nurturing that potential and proving that meaningful youth work can be creative, visible and fun.

It’s another step in our mission to build confidence, community and opportunity — from the grassroots up.
