Back young people in Bristol
Help back young people in Bristol & support Grassroot Communities
Grassroot Communities is a Bristol CIC working with young people aged 8 to 30 from underserved communities across the city. Mentoring, detached youth work, creative projects, paid internships, and the year-round support that helps young people find their feet. Your donation funds all of it.
Solomon – GAP participant
Grassroot Communities, for me, has just been life changing, because before I was unemployed but now I’ve got an actual purpose in my life.
What support makes possible
Behind every donation is a young person with potential
A young person looking for somewhere they belong. A young person who needs encouragement to believe in themselves. A young person who can grow through creativity, sport, mentoring, community action or leadership.
Help young people and communities of Bristol to fly
Every donation helps Grassroot Communities support young people through mentoring, community-based projects around creativity, sport, nature, youth work and pathways into employment.

What makes Grassroot Communities different
We’re shaped by what young people and communities in Bristol tell us they need. Every pound goes into work happening on Bristol’s streets, in Bristol’s communities, with young people who know us by name.
We’re also the team behind Bristol Birdman, our annual flying machine fundraiser on the harbourside. Every team entry, every sponsorship, every bucket donation on the day funds the same year-round work your donation supports.

Last year, this work supported 5,200 young people across Bristol. 98% said they felt more confident afterwards. 26 young people moved into education, training or employment through GAP.

“This is more than just a wild flight into the river. It’s about showing up for the young people in our city who don’t always get the chances they deserve. At CPA, we believe every kid deserves support, encouragement, and someone cheering them on.”
